The Rwanda National Police (RNP) men Volleyball Club won the 2023 Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) tournament, which concluded on Sunday, August 6, at Lugogo in Kampala, Uganda.
Police VC beat Rukinzo VC of Burundi 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-13) in the finals to emerge champions at its maiden participation in the tournament, which brought together 24 teams (16 males and 14 female teams) from Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya and hosts, Uganda.
In the build-up to the finals, the fired up Police VC eliminated Cobra of South Sudan (3-0) and Elyon VC from Uganda (3-1) in the semi-finals and quarter-finals, respectively.
In group stages, Police VC beat Equity Bank VC from Kenya by 3 sets to 2, and 3-1 victory over Uganda's Sky VC.
