Police Women Volleyball Club won the maiden Rwanda Volleyball Liberation Cup tournament after beating APR VC 3-1 in the finals played on Sunday, July 9, at BK Arena.
The two-day tournament attracted eight teams, including RRA VC, IPRC Huye, IPRC Kigali and Ruhango VC.

Police won the first two sets; 25-14, 25-18 before APR pulled one back to claim the third set 25-20. The law enforcers displayed a champion spirit and dominance in the fourth set to seal the victory with 25-14.
Police VC coach, Hatungimana Christian was full of praise for his players for the deserved triumph.

"We won the Genocide Memorial tournament and now the Liberation Cup.
Everyone--the players, coaching staff and of course our supporters--is happy about this victory and club competitiveness," Hatungimana said.
