PM Ngirente commissions 656 cadet officers

Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente, on Wednesday, October 27, commissioned 656 officers of the 11th Cadet Course intake. They include 574 officers who joined Rwanda National Police (RNP) with the rank of Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP), 38 from the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS), 34 from Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) and 10 who joined Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS).  Read more...

MUSANZE: Minister Gatabazi opens training for youth volunteers

The Minister of Local Government, Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi, on Friday, October 29, officially opened a five-day Training of Trainers for 49 members of Rwanda Youth Volunteers in Community Policing (RYVCP).

30 Police officers trained in environmental protection


Thirty Police officers have been trained in environmental conservation as part of the Rwanda National Police (RNP) to supplement and enforce national environmental protection programmes.

Police arrest 22 motorists over drunk-driving


Twenty-two people were arrested on various roads in City of Kigali after they were found either driving or riding while drunk.

35 Police officers trained on Fire and safety awareness


The Rwanda National Police (RNP) Fire and Rescue Brigade (FRB) trained 35 staff of Rutsiro District Police Unit on fire safety in Kivumu sector of Rutsiro district.

The one-day onjob training, which was conducted on Sunday, October 24, at DPU Rutsiro Headquarters, was part of the RNP initiatives to equip different units and departments with separate aspects in Policing including basic skills against fire emergencies.  Read more...

The Rwanda Formed Police Unit Three (RWAFPU-3) contingent deployed in Juba under the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), on Monday, October 25, donated assorted items including scholastic materials and sanitary towels to support displaced students, who are currently in internally displaced camps.  Read more...

NYAGATARE: Man arrested with smuggled minerals


Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested on Monday, October 25, one Fred Twagirayesu, 47, in Rwebeshorogoto, Matimba Sector in Nyagatare District with 50kgs of cassiterite minerals smuggled, which he had sneaked into Rwanda from the neighbouring Uganda.  Read more...

MUSANZE: Stolen motorcycle recovered, suspects arrested


Rwanda National Police (RNP) on Tuesday, October 26, recovered a stolen motorcycle in Musanze District and arrested three people in connection with the act.

The trio of  Rukundo Habumuremyi, 21, Noel Nizeyimana, 24, and Clement Imanishimwe, 26, was at the time disassembling the stolen motorcycle.  Read more...
