IGP Namuhoranye attends closing of regional field training exercise in Tanzania

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) CG Felix Namuhoranye, on Wednesday , April 17, attended the official closing of the Field Training Exercise (FTX) for Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) law enforcement agencies held at Tanzania Police School Moshi, Kilimanjaro.

The three-day FTX code-named "Usalama Pamoja" was held under the theme: "Enhancing EAPCCO's readiness in responding to terrorism and transnational organized crimes."

Six countries took part in the training. These are Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, South Sudan and Ethiopia.Read more

PEACEKEEPING: Rwanda National Police to rotate three contingents in Central African Republic

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Vincent Sano, on Friday, April 19, briefed 460 Police officers set to be deployed to Central African Republic (CAR) and urged them to maintain the Rwandan peacekeeping legacy during their one-year tour-of-duty.

The officers to be deployed under the UN Multidimensional Stabilization Integrated Mission in CAR (MINUSCA) constitute three contingents. 

Formed Police Unit Two (FPU-2) of 180 officers under the command of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Boniface Niyitegeka, will be deployed in Kaga Bandoro; while 140 officers of FPU-1 headed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jean Claude Munyeragwe and the Protection Support Unit (PSU) of 140 officers under the command of SSP IIdephonse Rutagambwa, will operate in the capital Bangui.Read more

PEACEKEEPING: RNP starts rotation of contingents in Central African Republic

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Saturday, April 20, started the rotation of three peacekeeping contingents serving under the UN Multidimensional Stabilization Integrated Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

Rwanda Formed Police Unit Two rotation Eight (RWAFPUII-8) operating in Kaga Bandoro was replaced by RWAFPUII-9 commanded by Chief Superintendent of Police CSP Boniface Niyitegeka, which left earlier Saturday.Read more

Ambassador Munyuza visit Police, Gisagara volleyball clubs in Egypt

Rwanda's ambassador to Egypt, CG Dan Munyuza, on Monday April 15, visited Police and Gisagara volleyball clubs which are representing Rwanda at the 45th edition of the African volleyball Clubs Championship currently underway in Cairo.

The ambassador encouraged the Rwandan teams to be courageous, committed and competitive in the tournament.Read more
