Training on fire safety shifts to energy sector

Fire outbreak is among the natural disasters that negatively impact on people's lives including deaths, destruction of property and environment.

This in turn affect the economy and development at all levels. There is no value for a life lost. More so, the cost of renovating the property or infrastructure lost in fire is equally high.

This is why Rwanda National Police (RNP) continues to raise awareness against fire disasters.

On Friday, January 28, the Fire and Rescue Brigade (FRB) extended its practical training to 28 staff of Engie Energy Access Warehouse located in Nunga Cell, Gahanga Sector of Kicukiro District.

The training which has been extended to different groups of people including medical workers, local leaders, business community, casual workers, security personnel, among others; seeks to enrich their understanding on fire safety measures.

It equips participants with basic skills to fight fire including causes and components of fire, fire prevention measures, techniques of firefighting using different types of fire extinguishers as well as safer ways of using cooking gases.

This is also part of the Fire and Rescue Brigade to inspect facilities against fire emergencies and to advise owners to fix the identified gaps, which can cause fire.
