Rwanda National Police (RNP) started a fresh road safety campaign to influence safer road usage and to prevent accidents.

FIRE SAFETY: Over 300 trained in Eastern Province


The Rwanda National Police (RNP) Fire and Rescue Brigade (FRB) fire safety awareness continued to Gatunda, Ngarama and Gahini hospitals in Nyagatare, Gatsibo and Kayonza districts, respectively, where over 300 staff were trained on how to fight and prevent fire emergencies.  Read more...

Police marine unit strengthen operations against illegal fishing


The Rwanda National Police (RNP) marine unit strengthened its operations against illegal fishing activities, which affects fish production.

KIGALI: Police seize about 400 bottles of smuggled liquor


The Rwanda National Police (RNP) Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crimes (ASOC) department seized 399 assorted bottles of smuggled wines and spirits worth over Frw8 million, from dealers in City of Kigali.
The bottles of varied brands including Martini, Jambo, Black Label and Marula were seized from three people on Friday, February 11, who were also taken into custody.  Read more...

KAMONYI: Over 20 arrested in bar for flouting Covid-19 directives


Twenty-three people were arrested Friday, February 11, at about 1pm, in a bar in Kamonyi District, which was operating contrary to the national directives against the spread of Covid-19.

The bar belongs to one Gerard Ntezimana, 39, also arrested, located in Rugazi Village, Ruyenzi Cell of Runda Sector was operating without authorization.  Read more...

Police foils group of smugglers in Rusizi


On Saturday, February 4, the Rwanda National Police (RNP) Marine unit foiled a group of smugglers in Nkanka Sector, Rusizi District, who were attempting to sneak assorted smuggled goods into Rwanda from the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The Police Marine Unit seized from the smugglers over 400 pieces of Kitenge, an African fabric, and 125kgs of powdered milk.  Read more...
