CP Bizimungu takes over as MINUSCA 'Police Commissioner'
Rwanda's Commissioner of Police (CP) Christophe Bizimungu officially took over his duties as the new Police Commissioner for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
The new Chief of MINUSCA Police Component (D-2) arrived in the capital Bangui on Sunday following his appointment, to head more than 2000 Police personnel.
CP Bizimungu takes over from Major General Pascal Champion, a french national, who headed the Police component since 2019. Read more...
Northern Province: Police in awareness campaign on Covid-19 prevention
Rwanda National Police (RNP) and partners in the Northern Province started an outreach programme to sensitize the business community in the region on Covid-19 prevention measures.
The campaign, which started on Monday, June 28, brings together the Police, Private Sector Federation (PSF), local leaders and youth volunteers in community to supplement the national efforts against the second wave of the pandemic. Read more...
COVID-19: Police parade six violators caught in spa
Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Sunday, June 27, paraded to the media six people, who were arrested at a spa located in Kanombe Sector, Kicukiro District.
The spa is owned by one Vincent Gasana, who is among those arrested. Spas are among the services that were closed by the Cabinet as part of the measures to contain the new wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. Read more...

On Thursday, July 1, Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested four people in Muhanga District, who belong to the same group that conducts in illegal mining activities.

NORTHERN PROVINCE: Local leaders arrested for flouting COVID-19 prevention directives
Two cell executive secretaries were arrested separately in Gicumbi and Rulindo districts for flouting the national directives meant to contain the spread the Covid-19 pandemic.

KIGALI: Bus driver arrested smuggling people to Musanze
Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Saturday, July 3, at about 4pm, intercepted a bus in Kanyinya Sector, Nyarugenge District which was smuggling people from City of Kigali to Musanze District.
