PEACEKEEPING: RNP rotates two contingents in CAR

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Thursday, April 15, conducted the rotation of its two Formed Police Unit (FPU) contingents of 320 officers serving under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

Rwanda FPU-2 contingent of 160 officers left Kigali International Airport at about 10am under the command of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Jerome Ntageruka.  Read more...

Bugesera: Over 160 arrested for flouting COVID-19 prevention directives

At least 164 were arrested on Saturday, April 10, in Nyamata Sector of Bugesera District for flouting government directives meant to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

GISAGARA: Police seize six bales of smuggled clothes

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Sunday, April 11, arrested three people in Gisagara District, with six bales of smuggled secondhand clothes commonly known as Caguwa.

Those arrested include Francois Munyaneza, 33, and Jean Mbarushimana Cyumbati, 48, apprehended in Amashya Village, Agahabwa Cell of Kigembe Sector, while the third suspect, Francoise Nyirakamana, 40, was apprehended in Agahehe Village, Higiro Cell in Nyanza Sector.  Read more...

COVID-19: 22 caught in bar drinking in Muhanga

Rwanda National Police (RNP) and local leaders, on Monday, April 12, arrested 22 people gathered in a bar drinking in Mushishiro Sector of Muhanga District.

KIGALI: Police arrest nine in operations against forgery of driver’s license

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Friday, April 16, paraded nine people at Kigali Metropolitan Police headquarters in Remera, who were arrested in the operations against people forging and using fake driver's licenses. 

The suspects include six men, who were forging and selling driver's licenses as well as three drivers and motorcyclists, who were using forged permits.  Read more...

RUBAVU: Two drug dealers arrested with 5,000 pellets of cannabis

Strengthened operations by the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) targeting major drug dealers led to the arrest of two people in Rubavu District with 5000 pellets of cannabis.
