Minister Biruta meets RNP leadership

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Vincent Biruta held a meeting with the Rwanda National Police (RNP) leadership, heads of departments, units and senior officers, on Tuesday, August 27, at the General Headquarters in Kacyiru. 

Dr. Biruta, who was received by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), CG Felix Namuhoranye, thanked the force for its policing professionalism and supporting the national development agenda through human security activities.

The Minister pointed out that despite the existing challenges, the RNP has made a milestone to make people in Rwanda safe and reassured.  Read more...

RNP holds 13th Women Police Convention

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) 13th edition of 'Women Police Convention' opened on Friday, August 30, at the General Headquarters in Kacyiru.

The two-day annual convention brings together the RNP leadership, government officials, female Police officers, and partners to discuss matters pertaining policing and gender promotion in the Police force.

It provides a platform for the female Police officers to discuss on their policing duties, achievements, challenges and way forward towards gender promotion and accomplishment of their tasks.

The 13th edition is held under the theme; "A female Police officer at the forefront in perfecting professional policing."  Read more...

PHOTOS: 13th Women Police Convention ends with focus on medical awareness, professional policing

The two-day Rwanda National Police (RNP) 13th Women Police Convention concluded on Saturday, August 31, with focus on medical awareness on breast cancer, epidemic diseases such as Mpox, STDs as well as unplanned pregnancy and family planning methods.

Day One elaborated more on family cohesion and gender principles, importance of gender diversity in institutional decision making process; nurturing career path for professionalism and service delivery; and the role of female Police officers in enhancing professionalism and discipline in the force.  Read more...

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), CG Felix Namuhoranye, on Wednesday, August 28, received the Minister of Interior of Sierra Leone, Maj Gen (Rtd) David Tamba Ocil Taluva, at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters, Kacyiru.

Rwanda, Liberia Police forces hold bilateral meeting in Kigali

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye, on Monday, August 26, received his counterpart of Liberia National Police, Gregory O W Coleman, at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters, Kacyiru.

The two Police Chiefs held a bilateral meeting and discussed measures to strengthen cooperation in various policing disciplines.  Read more...

Rwanda Formed Police Unit Three second rotation (RWAFPU3-2) and RWAFPU1-10 serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA), on Saturday August 31, joined residents, local leaders local law enforcement agencies and CAR Army (FACA) in Bangassou City, Mbomou Prefecture, and in Bangui, respectively, in a communal work--Umuganda--dedicated to promoting sanitation and hygiene. 

In the capital Bangui, RWAFPU1-10 distributed over 10,000 litres of water in the area of 4th Arrondissement located where the local population face shortage of clean water.  Read more...
