Over 4500 Police officers promoted
His Excellency Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda, promoted senior and junior Police officers to different ranks. They are among the 4516 officers, including Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO), who were elevated to various ranks.
The promotions announced on Friday, April 25, include 16 officers elevated from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and 24 from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). Read more...
Minister Bizimana urges Police to defend unity, in a Genocide lecture
Dr. Jean Damascene Bizimana, Minister of National Unity and Civic Engagement, delivered a public lecture on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at the Rwanda National Police Headquarters.
The public lecture, held as part of the ongoing 100 days of remembrance, was attended by institutional leaders, senior police officers, and other officials. UN honors over 300 Rwandan Police peacekeepers for service excellence in CAR
On Friday, April 25, the United Nations awarded service medals to 313 Rwandan Police peacekeepers for their exceptional contributions to peace, security, and humanitarian efforts in the Central African Republic (CAR).
These peacekeepers, serving under the UN’s Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in CAR (MINUSCA), were recognized for their professionalism and integrity. The decorated officers included 140 members of the Rwanda Formed Police Unit (RWAFPU-1), 140 from the Rwanda Protection Support Unit (RWAPSU), and 33 Individual Police Officers (IPO). Read more...

EAPCCO organs meeting ends on a high note with firm resolutions
The three-day Organs Meeting of the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO), held in Kigali, concluded on Thursday, April 24, on a high note as members returned to their respective duties with new tasks and commitments.
The gathering brought together member states to assess collaboration strategies in the fight against transnational crimes—including human trafficking, terrorism, cybercrime, and organized crime—while reinforcing the importance of administrative responsibilities within the regional police body. Police officers donate blood
184 Police officers donated blood on Tuesday, April 22, in an exercise held at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters, Kacyiru.
The RNP Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Boniface Rutikanga, said that as Police officers, donating blood is in line with the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between RNP and RBC and part of the Institution's human security program to promote the health and well-being of the community.
