Police volleyball club beat University of Zimbabwe Wolves in African championship

Police volleyball club claimed their second win at the ongoing African Volleyball Clubs Championship in Cairo, Egypt after beating University of Zimbabwe Wolves Volleyball Club in three straight sets on Tuesday, April 16.

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) volleyball club took the first set on 26-24, fought for the second set on 25-22 and won the third set on a high note--25-14.

They lost their opening match but had a consolation on Monday when Garde Republicaine du Congo of DRC failed to show up.

Rwanda is represented by Police and Gisagara volleyball clubs at the two-week 45th edition of the African volleyball Clubs Championship, which started on April 12.

This year's edition attracted 21 clubs pooled in seven groups.

Head coach, Fred Musoni said this is a competitive tournament and praised the spirit of his players.

"This was not a simple match but we fought hard to triumph, which is required of the players in our marches ahead," Musoni said.

Police VC's next task will be against Green Buffaloes Volleyball Club of Zambia.
