Two Rwandan police officers complete Senior Officers Basic Course in Singapore

Two officers from the Rwanda National Police (RNP) on Friday, June 26, completed a nine-month Senior Officers Basic Course (SOBC) at the Home Team Academy (HTA) Training Command in Singapore.

The pass-out ceremony for the 25th intake was presided over by Singapore Police Force (SPF) Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Alvin Moh.

Also in attendance were Rwanda's High Commissioner to Singapore, Innocent Bagamba Muhizi, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Augustin Ntaganira, the Chief Instructor at the National Police College (NPC) located in Musanze District.

Among the graduates were RNP officers Laurence Manzi and Emmanuel Rusingizandekwe, who completed the programme and graduated with the rank of Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP).

The training reflects the continued implementation of the cooperation agreement signed between the Rwanda National Police and the Singapore Police Force in August 2022.

The partnership focuses on strengthening institutional capacity and enhancing collaboration in combating transnational organised crime.

The agreement also promotes cooperation in specialised training programmes, the exchange of expertise and information, coordinated operations, and efforts to improve public security and maintain public order.

Additional areas of collaboration include combating cybercrime, trafficking in persons, online child sexual exploitation, money laundering, smuggling, and the illegal trade in arms, ammunition, and explosives.
