Rwanda National Police receive firefighting truck from Rusumo Power Company

Rwanda National Police (RNP) received a modern firefighting truck from Rusumo Power Company Limited (RPCL), to further strengthening cooperation and enhancing disaster response capacity.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, CP Vincent Sano, received the truck on Friday, February 13, at the RNP General Headquarters in Kacyiru. The MAN Model TGS 33.440 truck is equipped with specialized instruments for disaster and fire management.  Read More... 

160 Rwandan Police officers return from UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan

On Thursday, February 12, 160 Rwanda National Police (RNP) officers returned home after a one-year successful tour-of-duty under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

Motor-vehicle owners urged to complete ownership transfers before grace period ends

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) urged motor-vehicle owners to finalize ownership transfers, warning that legal action will be taken after the grace period expires.

Last month, RRA and RNP launched a joint nationwide awareness campaign and special support to fast-track ownership transfers and support to those facing various challenges to complete this mandatory process. 

All owners of vehicles and motorcycles that are no longer in use are also required to return their number plates for deregistration and to prevent accumulation of unnecessary taxes.  Read More... 

Rwanda National Police teams shine at 2026 UAE SWAT Challenge

Rwanda National Police (RNP) SWAT Team One won a bronze medal in the Obstacle Course and secured 484 points to finish sixth overall at the 2026 United Arab Emirates (UAE) SWAT Challenge in Dubai.

The Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Challenge, held from February 7–11, featured 109 elite police and military teams from 48 countries competing to test their tactical skills, endurance, and teamwork in high-pressure and mission-based scenarios.  Read More... 

DIGP Sano briefs Police officers ahead of UN peacekeeping deployment to South Sudan

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, CP Vincent Sano, briefed 160 Rwanda National Police (RNP) officers on Tuesday, February 10, ahead of their deployment to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

The pre-deployment briefing for Rwanda Formed Police Unit (RWAFPU3-8) took place at RNP General Headquarters in Kacyiru.

The female-dominated contingent under the command of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dativa Iribagiza, later replaced RWAFPU3-7 in the capital Juba.  Read More...
