Police Football Club head coach, Andre Cassa Mbugo says maintaining the unbeaten record is alone not enough noting that security maximum points in each match will drive them to the trophy.
While reacting to a 1-1 draw against Kiyovu in the National Azam Premier League played at Amahoro stadium on Saturday, Cassa Mbugo said: “Players tried to be into the game, they got a goal, but unfortunately we were punished due to some mistakes. But we are not giving up, our target is not a draw but to win all our matches if we are to win the league.”
Police FC secured their goal in the third minute of the game after Kiyovu Captain Alex Ngirimana scored an own goal through a shoot taken by Police’s Gabriel Mugabo.
Alex Muhindo equalized for Kiyovu 14 minutes later. Both sides had chances to double their score misused.
It is Police’s fourth draw in the last five games and Coach Cassa Mbugo believes unbeaten run means nothing if they are sliding on the table. The law enforcers have not lost any match since the start of the league season.
On the ninth day of the national football league, the law enforcers are fourth on the table with 17 points, two behind table leaders, AS Kigali, APR and Rayon Sports respectively, which are all tied at 18 points each but separated by goal difference.
