Two Rwandan female police officers complete Senior Officers Basic course in Singapore

Two female officers from the Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Thursday, October 2, completed a nine-month Senior Officers Basic Course (SOBC) at the Home Team Academy (HTA) training Command in Singapore.

The pass-out ceremony of the 24th intake was presided over by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Deputy Police Commissioner (Policy), DC How Kwang Hwee.

It was also attended by Rwanda's High Commissioner to Singapore, Innocent Bagamba Muhizi, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Barthelemy Rugwizangonga, Commissioner for Training in the Rwanda National Police (RNP).

AIP Esther Mukakalisa and AIP Ange Natete are the only allied students that attended the course.

This milestone follows a bilateral agreement signed in August 2022 between the Rwanda National Police and the Singapore Police Force. The partnership focuses on capacity development and joint efforts to combat transnational organized crime.

The agreement also highlights cooperation in various training programmes, exchange of expertise, sharing of information, conducting coordinated operations, public security, and public order.

Other areas of cooperation include fighting cybercrimes, trafficking in persons, online child sexual exploitation, money laundering, smuggling, and trade in arms, ammunition, and explosives.
