While speaking to students in Nyabihu, Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) Rose Uwizera, the District Community Liaison Officer advised students to extend these road safety messages to community members.
“When crossing a road, you must look left and right at all times. Where there are traffic lights, you must abide by the instructions; this is how you will ensure your individual safety on roads,” she told the students.
Uwizera went on to add that; “The elders believe in you, this is why we encourage you to share with the general public the safety information we have equipped you with.”
The Director of REGA primary and secondary school, Obed Musabyimana said that there are times when children play along roads, especially when going or coming from school.
“I trust that the knowledge they’ve acquired will keep them safe on road and I thank the police for this continued campaign that is meant to make the general public safe,” Musabyimana said
