The Rwanda National Police has closed the operations of Tabasec limited, a private security firm located in Kicukiro sector, Kicukiro District, which has been operating illegally.

Police Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Damas Gatare said the firm had no operational licence and were operating illegally.

Normally, the licence is issued by Rwanda National Police after the firm fulfills all the requirements.

“The company had no management structure, lacked recruitment criteria, training manual, operation plan and security equipments, which Rwanda National Police bases on to issue a working permit,” ACP Gatare explain.

Rwanda National Police had in October last year notified the firm to stop its business, but the firm defied the directive.

ACP Gatare said the force is working out a plan with other licensed private security firms to employee guards who were working for Tabasec limited.
