Students, let your holidays be productive

Students across the country are now enjoying holidays, set to last for more than two months.

Some students think this is the time for them to have fun – watch movies and television programmes, enjoy social networks such as facebook with their distant friends.

Students have to know that time wasted is never gained. It is therefore time to utilize every single minute, help their parents, revise to improve on their academic skills, including going to libraries to read various kinds of writings relating to their areas of study.

By so doing, this will prevent them from being involved in unlawful acts, including consuming narcotics and illicit brews, which are not only illegal and punishable by the law but also dangerous and harmfully to their health.

By helping parents, they are contributing to the family development and raising their tuition fee and other essential needs.

Parents also should monitor their children, know their whereabouts and advise them on what is best for them.

Rwanda National Police (RNP) reminds the general public that it’s strictly forbidden to give alcohol to under 18 years old children.

Owners of bar, night clubs and lodges, motels, are also urged not to allow in their premises under-aged children.

People, who are engaged in hideous habits of spoiling young girls by profiting from their poverty, ignorance, or any other weaknesses, are again urged reminded that these acts are punishable by the law.

Treat every child like your own.
