Strive for results - IGP Gasana tells officers

The Inspector General of Police, Emmanuel K. Gasana has challenged officers to double their efforts and be a result-oriented force.

The IGP made the appeal on Sunday while presiding over the closure of a two-day retreat that brought together 32 police officers heading various units and directorates attached to the Commission of Operations and Public order, held at the force's General Headquarters in Kacyiru.

The retreat aimed at evaluating the Commission's activities and to lay more mechanisms against any security threats and discipline.
The Police Chief told the officers to know the operation environment and utilise the available resources.

He also reminded them on the operation framework and urged them to refocus on their tasks of maintaining security, enhance preventive mechanisms and be a professional, reactionary, rapid and a vibrant force.

He thanked the commission for organising this retreat to strengthen its duties.

Chief Superintendent Charles Kayihura, one of the participants said the retreat was spot-on to reflect on their activities.

The officers requested for periodic training to enhance their skills and knowledge in their respective areas of operation.
