Yi Wan, the Vice President of the South Korean-based IT firm, made the pledge on Friday while visiting the RNP General Headquarters in Kacyiru.

Mr. Wan and his delegation were received by the Inspector General of Police, Emmanuel K. Gasana and other commissioners.

He said that KISA will provide various trainings, including digital forensics, to capacitate Police officers to effectively deal with cyber and other internet-related crimes.

The training will include tracking people who rob banks and those that make fraudulent businesses using IT.

Mr. Wan was also accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of Duzon Information Security Services (ISS), Mr. Chan Woo Lee.

“This is my first time to come to Rwanda, but I had a good impression of this country, upon arrival at the airport. There is no doubt, the good image was not only due to the cleanness of the country but also the hospitality of its citizens” Mr. Wan observed.

The IGP commended the continued cooperation between Rwanda and South Korea.

“South Korea has been supporting RNP in various areas. We’re committed to this cooperation and looking forward for continued partnership to tighten these relations to fight cyber ad IT-related crimes to secure people and their properties, not only in Rwanda and the region but in the entire world,” IGP Gasana said.
