Sector Accountant held over breach of traffic rules

Rwanda National Police has arrested an accountant of Kabacuzi sector in Muhanga district for violating road safety rules and regulations.

The Spokesperson for Traffic and Road Safety, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP), Emmanuel Kabanda comfirmed that Jean de Dieu Nsanzimfura, 27 was arrested  on Muhanga-Kigali highway while driving vehicle number RAC 266 B without a driving permit.

Nsanzimfura said he had borrowed the vehicle from the Executive Secretary of Kabacuzi sector to attend a wedding function in Kigali However Nsanzimana confessed to have ordered the driver of the car Vedaste Sibomana, 23 to give him the key and then drove.

 “As a leader, I should not have done such an illegal act. I showed a bad example," admitted Nsanzimfura .

"The car was in my hands, i should have denied giving the key to my boss. I acted unprofessionally" Sibomana who is the car driver confessed
He advises fellow drivers not to fall in same a trap of giving a key to a person not authorized to drive.

Article 9 that governs traffic rules stipulates that any person who is found driving without a driving permit shall liable to two months in prison and a fine of Rw50,000 or one of these penalties.
