RYVCP Umuganda Valued at over Rwf 15 M

Members of the Rwanda Youth Volunteers in Community Policing (RYVCP) from across the country have this Saturday, carried out Community Work (Umuganda) which is valued in monetary terms  at  over Rwf 15m.

The activity was carried out in all 416 Sectors across the country

Members of the RYVCP were joined in the activity by officers from Rwanda National Police and Rwanda Defence Forces; they did variety of activities including building houses, toilets, kitchen gardens for the most disadvantaged residents.

Jean Bosco Mutangana, the Commissioner in charge of Training in RYVCP, said they (members of the organisation) feel proud to be active agents of positive change to the country.

The organisation has a slogan,  "Uruhare rwanjye, twubake u Rwanda twifuza'' which is loosely translated as, "My role in Building the Rwanda we Deserve" which Mutangana described as a driving force behind their engagement in varied government development programmes.

"We are more determined to make a contribution to nation building through containing and maintain what the country has achieved

and also take part in more tangible activities like donating live stocks, building houses for poor people in communities,  said Mutangana.

He thanked fellow youth for their good turn up for the activity in different places of the country; he challenged them to keep such noble cause.
