Rwanda National Police (RNP) men and women volleyball teams have strengthened their squads with 11 new signings ahead of the new season.
The new signings—six for the men's team and five for the women's team—were unveiled this Wednesday, October 15, at the RNP General Headquarters in Kacyiru, as the leadership assessed last season's performance and established objectives for the forthcoming campaign.
Police Volleyball team completed its 16-man squad with the acquisition of Melly Brian from IR Tangier in Morocco, Angiro Gideon Nespal from REG VC, Niyonkuru from Gisagara VC, Alex Rwanyonga from East Africa University as well as Niyonzima Gasore and Rodrigue Singizwamana from secondary schools.

The new entrants on the female club roster include Flavia Dusabe from APR VC, Aline Kayirebwa from Ruhango VC, and three rising stars from secondary schools — Kamikazi Shekinnah, Kansiime Ruth, and Uwase Claire.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Teddy Ruyenzi, Commissioner for Community Policing, commended both teams for their remarkable growth and achievements since their formation.
“Since joining national competitions three years ago, Police volleyball teams have built an impressive legacy,” ACP Ruyenzi said. “You have proven that success is possible by winning trophies — now keep the fans’ joy alive by performing even better.”

She highlighted that sports play a vital role not only as a recreational activity but also as a bridge between the Police and the community, promoting cooperation and crime prevention.
“Beyond football, volleyball also provides a platform for Police officers and citizens to interact and build positive relationships,” she added.
ACP Ruyenzi urged the players to uphold teamwork, discipline, and integrity both on and off the court, reminding them that they are ambassadors of the Rwanda National Police and its values wherever they go.
Both the men’s and women’s teams enjoyed a successful previous season, collectively winning six trophies — four by the women’s team and two by the men’s team.
