Rwanda National Police (RNP) Taekwondo club has dominated this year's Genocide Memorial tournament bagging 20 medals, including 11 gold.
The tournament, which concluded this Sunday, May 29, in Rubavu District, was organized to pay tribute to Taekwondoin and lovers of the martial art, who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Ten clubs, nine from Rwanda and one from Kenya, took part in the competition.
RNP participated in both male and female categories, scooping 11 gold medals, three silver and six bronze.
Nine RNP male players won gold in U-54kgs, U-58kgs, U-63kgs, U-68kgs, U-74kgs, U-95kgs and above 95kgs.
Female players bagged gold in U-49kgs, U-57kgs, U-62kgs and U-67kgs.
Police Taekwondo club was also crowned the champions of the tournament and given a trophy.

Nadege Umurerwa were also voted as the Most Valuable Players (MVP) in male and female categories, respectively.
Coach Eugene Ntawangundi thanked his players for the excellent performance.
"The spirit of winning was high among players and they went for that. We had prior preparations, including training and support from Rwanda National Police leadership, which also contributed to our triumph," Ntawangundi said.
