He is currently held at Muhima Police station pending further investigation.

The Traffic and Road Safety Spokesperson, Superintendent Jean Marie Vianney Ndushabandi appealed to owners of vehicles to be watchful of such lawbreakers, who sell them fake clearance papers.

“Rwanda National Police has no so called agents in this case and all the motor vehicle inspection clearance papers like stickers and certificate are offered at the venue of inspection,”  Supt. Ndushabandi explained.

These papers can therefore be obtained from Remera Motor vehicle Inspection Centre (MIC) and at the station of the Motor Vehicle Mobile Test Lane.

The suspect will be charged under article 606 of the penal code.
