The Rwanda National Police yesterday deployed 38 officers to the United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Missions in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) and Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).
While at Police Headquarters, in Kacyiru the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Dan Munyuza, briefed the contingent and advised them to make good use of the trainings and preparations they received to fulfill their assigned mission.
He urged them to raise the country’s flag high by acting professionally and maintaining discipline.
He also told them to stick to the force’s doctrine and be good ambassadors.
The contingents will depart on 27th of this month.They include 21 females.
Rwanda maintains about 600 police peacekeepers in eight missions including Haiti, Sudan, Liberia, Ivory Coast and South Sudan.
