Police and local leaders in Rwamagana District have committed to enhance hygiene as one of the facilitators of security.
The commitments were made recently during a regular security review meeting where both parties agreed on sensitizing the public on sanitation and community policing
Addressing the meeting, the Mayor of Rwamagana, Radjab Mbonyumuvunyi emphasised that “hygiene is part of the security package, we must advance it as well.”
The meeting, which took place at Rwamagana district headquarters, was attended by all sector executive secretaries and police among others.
Local leaders also reviewed means of how to ensure security during the ongoing presidential campaigns as required and urged aspirant to coordinate with authorities.
They agreed to collaborate to guarantee a safe and secure electoral process.
The Mayor urged supporters to observe campaign regulations and be disciplined and avoid any confrontation.
Supt. Edward Kizza, the District Police Commander, aid that owing to the discipline of Rwandans, security will prevail during the campaigns and urged residents to remain vigilant to close any loopholes that may cause insecurity
Rwanda National Police has assured Rwandans that it is more than prepared to ensure the elections is conducted in the usual peaceful and secure environment.
