Rulindo: CPCs urged on timely information sharing

Members of the Community Policing Committees (CPCs) in Mbogo Sector, Rulindo District have been urged to reinforce efforts against lawlessness. 

While addressing about 100 CPCs recently, the executive Secretary of Mbogo Jean Vedaste Nzeyimana, reminded them that the ideology of community policing is largely 

He urged them to be close and work with the people in their respective communities to implement community policing initiatives against especially drug dealers, theft and family conflicts. 

"People put their trust in you to lead them, so you need to be an example," Nzeyimana told the grassroots leaders.

He also urged them to put much effort in government development programmes like Umuganda and public health insurance, among others.

On his part, Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) Sam Ngororano, the District Community Liaison Officer for Rulindo, commended the CPCs for their role in fighting and preventing crimes.

He reminded them that the success of community policing also depends on the activeness of everyone as first responders.

The DCLO appealed to them to identity and report wrongdoers like drug dealers, gender based violence and all forms of child abuse.

Established in 2007, CPCs is a platform made of five residents at the village level.
