Italian ambassador pays courtesy call to IGP
The Italian ambassador to Rwanda, Massimiliano Mazzanti, on Thursday, paid a courtesy call to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters in Kacyiru.
The visit was in line with the existing working relations between Rwanda and Italy Police institutions.
The partnership is guided by the cooperation pact signed in January 2017, which elaborates exchange of best practices and capacity building in varied areas of Policing.
The agreement focuses mainly on training; counter-terrorism, public order management, traffic and road safety, peace support operations, aviation security, border security and cybercrime investigations, among others. Read more
Czech Republic ambassador pays courtesy call to IGP
The ambassador of Czech Republic to Rwanda, Martin Klepetko, on Friday, paid a courtesy call to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza at Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters in Kacyiru.
In their discussions, IGP Munyuza and Ambassador Klepetko emphasized cooperation in various areas of Police between Police institutions in the two countries, as an inevitable factor in responding to cross-border crimes.
“This was an interesting and fruitful meeting with the Inspector General. The Czech Republic is ready to work with our Rwandan friends in countless fields including security and anti-terror risk efforts. IGP Munyuza urges Police Officers to have ambition and vision
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza challenged police officers to always have a vision, ambitions, and goals for every year.
The Police Chief made the call on Tuesday when he visited the District Police Unit (DPU) of Bugesera, where he also briefed Police officers deployed there.
The visit is in line with Rwanda National Police (RNP) leadership visits carried out every year in all police units, both territorial and specialized, countrywide to interact with police officers in order to improve their daily duties.
The visits that started in Eastern region will continue to all DPUs countrywide.

DIGP Namuhoranye reminds traffic Police officers to uphold professionalism
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Felix Namuhoranye challenged traffic police officers to uphold discipline and professionalism in their daily duties.
The Deputy Police Chief made the call on Friday while meeting about 450 traffic police officers at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters in Kacyiru.

GERAYO AMAHORO: Muslims join Police in campaign on safer road usage
The Rwanda Muslim Community (RMC) has joined Rwanda National Police to educate all categories of road users on safer road usage.
The formal partnership in Gerayo Amahoro—arrive safe—started this Friday when the campaign was conducted in 33 mosques across the country.
It followed similar campaign launched and being conducted by the Catholic Church and protestant churches. Read more
40 Police officers from Rwanda and South Sudan complete aviation security course
A batch of 40 Police officers from Rwanda National Police (RNP) and South Sudan National Police Services (SSNPS) completed the second intake of the basic Airport Security course at the RNP General Headquarters in Kacyiru, on Friday.
The three-week course follows another of 27 Police officers conducted in December last year. Read more
Illegal mining: Six arrested in Rulindo
Rwanda National Police (RNP) and local authorities in Rulindo District have strengthened operations against illegal mining activities, which continue to cause disasters and fatalities.
In an operation conducted on Friday, Police apprehended six people, who were found mining illegally in Rutongo mines located in Akarambi Village, Gatwa Cell in Murambi Sector. Read more
KIGALI: Fight against abuse of narcotics extended to international schools
Rwanda National Police (RNP), City of Kigali and Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC), on Wednesday, met with heads of international schools to strengthen efforts in fighting abuse of drugs in schools.
The meeting was in line with the ongoing measures to fight and prevent abuse of drugs in schools as one of the ways to neutralize the market of drug dealers.
It brought together heads and representatives of Ecole Belge de Kigali, Ecole Congolaise and Ecole Francaise, among others. Read more
