IGP Gasana also requested head teachers to establish anti-crime clubs to enable students discuss solutions to crimes and come up with their own decisions to combat activities like drug abuse that may crop up on their campuses.
He also urged them to put in place security measures such as CCTV cameras that screen people who come to school premises and more importantly, employ responsible security guards to protect the students from dangerous strangers.
Boniface O. Onyango, the Principle of Riviera High School, commended Rwanda National Police for its continued efforts in maintaining security in schools.
“Rwanda National Police is one of the most effective and efficient institution in terms of response,” Onyango noted, while expressing commitment to tighten this partnership by sharing with police timely information whenever needed.
