Rwanda National Police honors retiring officers
Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Tuesday, September 13, held a send-off ceremony to honour 155 officers, who have retired from active service.
The ceremony presided over by the Minister of Interior, Alfred Gasana, was held at the RNP General Headquarters at Kacyiru.
It was also attended by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza, and the Deputy IGPs; Felix Namuhoranye in charge of Operations and Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza of Administration and Personnel. Read more...
Rwanda, Benin Police forces commit to stronger cooperation
Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Benin Republic Police recommitted to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in various areas of policing.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza, on Monday September 12, received the Director General of Benin Republican Police, Soumaila Allabi Yaya as the two Police institutions discussed ways to strengthen practical cooperation channels.

PEACEKEEPING: MINUSCA Police Commissioner visits Rwandan peacekeepers
The Head of the Police Component under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Commissioner of Police (CP) Christophe Bizimungu, on Wednesday, September 14, visited Rwandan Police peacekeepers operating in Kaga Bandoro, Nana Gribizi Province, and urged them to keep up the good work to ensure the safety and security of the people.
The Rwanda Formed Police Unit (RWAFPU2-7) contingent of 180 officers was deployed in north of the country in April, this year. Read more...
UN decorates Rwandan Police officers in South Sudan with service medal
The United Nations, on Thursday, September 15, decorated 187 Rwandan Police peacekeepers serving in its mission in South Sudan, with service medal in recognition of their contribution to peace and security.
The colourful medal pinning ceremony of the 160 officers of Rwanda Formed Police Unit Three (FPU-3) operating in the capital Juba and 27 Individual Police Officers (IPO), was presided over by the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General to the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Guang Cong. Police officers complete basic marine course
Twenty-seven Rwanda National Police (RNP) marine officers, on Thursday, September 15, completed a two-month basic marine training conducted in Lake Kivu.
The basic course equipped the new marine officers with maritime policing skills, including introduction to Police marine, First Aid, water survival and rescue, swimming, boat assembling and disassembling, sea warrior and practice, and seamanship and navigation. Read more...
RUBAVU: Revenue Protection Unit seize assorted smuggled goods
The Revenue Protection Unit (RPU) in Rubavu District arrested three people with assorted smuggled goods, which they sneaked into Rwanda from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
They were arrested on Tuesday, September 13, in Gisenyi Sector, Mbugangari Cell, Rurembo Village, where the goods including second hand clothes and shoes as well as the outlawed non-biodegradable plastic bags, were recovered. Read more...
