IGP Munyuza visits Namibian Police Force

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza was in Namibia for a 3-day visit during which he attended the change of command ceremony between the outgoing Inspector General of Namibian Police Force, Lt. Gen. Sebastian Haitota Ndeitunga and the incoming IGP, Maj. Gen. Joseph Shimweelao Shikongo.

Outgoing Namibian Police Chief lauds cooperation with Rwanda National Police

The outgoing Inspector General of Namibian Police Force, Lt. Gen Sebastian Haitota Ndeitunga lauded Rwanda for being a "strong cooperating partner" in policing.

UN commends Rwandan peacekeepers' performance


The UN Under Secretary General for Department of Peace Operations, Jean Pierre Lacroix lauded the performance of Rwandan peacekeepers in peace support operations.

Lacroix particularly recognized the contribution and impact Rwandan female peacekeepers especially in addressing gender based violence related matters.  Read more...

DIGP Namuhoranye?s submissions at the UN Police Chiefs Summit


The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Felix Namuhoranye said that effective peacekeeping policing models in conflict-ridden countries should always be developed based on the local context.

The Deputy Police Chief was speaking on Thursday, August 1, at the third United Nations Police Chiefs Summit (UNCOPS-2022) in New York, held under the theme: "Fostering sustainable peace and development through United Nations policing."  Read more...

DIGP Namuhoranye attends UN Chiefs of Police Summit

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, DCG Felix Namuhoranye was in New York to attend the 3rd United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS).

The UNCOPS 2022 brought together ministers, Chiefs of Police and senior representatives of policing organizations at the United Nations Headquarters from August 31 to September 1. NGOMA: Man held for felling trees in protected forest


Police and local leaders in Ngoma District, arrested on Saturday, August 27, a man identified as Faustin Habineza, 43, for illegally cutting trees in a gazetted forest.

Habineza allegedly fell at least 20 trees in a protected forest located in Terimbere Village, Nyaruvumu Cell of Rukira Sector to make timber for sell. Read more...

Four arrested in Police operations against drug dealers

Four people were arrested in separate Police operations against suppliers and retailers of cannabis conducted on Monday and Tuesday in Kicukiro and Bugesera districts.

Two of the suspects were apprehended on Monday, August 29, in Ngarama Village, Mbabe Cell, Masaka Sector of Kicukiro District with 317 pellets of cannabis.  Read more...

RUSIZI: Three suspected drug dealers arrested with over 22kgs of cannabis

Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested three men on Sunday, August 28, in Birogo Village, Gahinga Cell, Mururu Sector in Rusizi District in possession of 22.7kgs of cannabis.

Those arrested include one Rusungu Maula, 30, a driver of the truck, in which they were trafficking the narcotics.  Read more...

NYAGATARE: Police seize 22, 000 pieces of polythene bags

Manufacturing, use, importation or sale of plastic carry bags and single-use plastic items is prohibited in Rwanda and punishable by law.
