IGP Munyuza visits Singapore for bilateral cooperation
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza led a delegation that included the Secretary General of Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Col (rtd) Jeannot Ruhunga, for a four-day visit to Singapore to establish bilateral cooperation between law enforcement agencies in the two countries.
IGP Munyuza visited Singapore at the invitation of his counterpart, Commissioner General (CG) Hoong Wee Teck.
On Tuesday, August 23, IGP Munyuza and his host, CG Hoong signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which highlights key areas of Police cooperation between the two Police forces in capacity development as well as fighting and preventing transnational organized crime. Read more...
IGP Munyuza visits Singapore Police units
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza and the Secretary General of Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Col (rtd) Jeannot Ruhunga, while in Singapore, visited Singapore Police Training Command at Home Team Academy (HTA) and Traffic Police Unit headquarters on Wednesday, August 24, as part of the four-day visit.
IGP Munyuza and his delegation were received by the Deputy Commander of Training Command, DAC Wendy Koh, who briefed them on various training programmes offered at the Training Command. Read more...
Three arrested over fraudulent transfer of vehicle ownership
The Revenue Protection Unit (RPU) arrested three people, who allegedly attempted to fraudulently process the transfer of vehicle ownership.
They include an employee of Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) at Ngoma District branch, who unlawfully processed documents for the mutation of property after altering tax arrears and without conducting the automobile physical verification as a prerequisite. Read more...
Stolen motorcycle recovered in Gatsibo
A motorcycle, which was reported stolen on Tuesday, August 23, in Gatsibo District, Muhura Sector, Taba Cell in Cyoga I Village, was recovered.
The motorcycle TVS Victor RD 763M, was recovered from the suspected thief identified as Gilbert Hakizimana, 43, who was arrested later that day. Read more...
BURERA: Suspected drug trafficker arrested with 10kgs of cannabis
Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested a suspected drug dealer on Sunday, August 21, in Burera District in possession of 10kgs of cannabis.
Gilbert Twiringiyimana, 19, was arrested red-handed in Buhita Village, Bukwashuri Cell of Kivuye Sector with a bundle of cannabis, which he had trafficked into Rwanda from the neighbouring Uganda. Read more...
RUBAVU/NYABIHU: Police arrest three major drug dealers
Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested three suspected major drug dealers in separate operations conducted in Rubavu and Nyabihu districts with 8kgs and 2017 pellets of cannabis.
One of the suspects identified as Pascal Nsengiyumva, 28, was apprehended on Wednesday August 24, in Kanyamatembe Village, Terimbere Cell, of Nyundo Sector in Rubavu District with a bundle containing 8kgs of cannabis. Read more...

Intensified Rwanda National police (RNP) operations against drug related crimes led to the arrest of another drug dealer in Nyabihu District on Friday, August 26.
