Rwanda, Central African Republic sign Police cooperation pact

Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Central African Republic Police signed a cooperation agreement to formalize their cross-border partnership in various policing and security matters.

The pact was signed in Kigali on Monday, February 14, between Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza and his counterpart of CAR, Director General Zokoue Bienvenu.  Read more...

Gender equality adds value to policing, says CAR Police Chief


The visiting Director General for Central African Republic (CAR) National Police, Dhesse Zokoue Bienvenu lauded Rwanda's policy of gender equality, which he said that it also adds value in policing.

DG Zokoue, who is in Rwanda since Sunday for a week-long visit, made the remarks on Thursday, February 17, while visiting various Rwanda National Police (RNP) facilities and capabilities in Musanze and Rubavu districts. Read more...

KIGALI: Police intercept vehicle transporting smuggled goods

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) Inspectorate for Services and Ethics (ISE), on Tuesday, February 15, impounded a Fuso truck plate number RAF 266C in Kigali Sector, Nyarugenge District loaded with assorted smuggled goods, including 25 sacks of second-hand clothes commonly known as caguwa, and kitenge, a traditional fabric.  Read more...

MUHANGA: Suspected Police impersonator arrested defrauding aspiring drivers


Rwanda National Police (RNP) in Muhanga District, on Thursday, February 17, arrested a man in Muhanga District, who was masquerading as a Police officer and defrauding unwitting members of the public promising to give them driver's license.

Emmanuel Uwitonze, 40, was arrested Thursday, February 17, in Gahogo Cell, Nyamabuye Sector following information on his criminal dealings.  Read more...
