Over 40 officers complete 'Tactical Commanders course'

Forty-two officers from Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Rwanda Correctional Services (RCS), on Friday, March 5, completed the tenth intake of the ‘Police Tactical Commanders Course' at the National Police College (NPC) in Musanze District.

NYARUGENGE: Police arrest four smugglers with 20 bales of clothes

Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested four smugglers in Nyarugenge District with 20 bales of second-hand clothes commonly known as Caguwa.

They were arrested on Friday, March 5, in operations conducted in Kimisagara and Rwezamenyo sectors by the Anti-Smuggling and Revenue Protection units.  Read more...

Fire and Rescue Brigade extinguish benzine trailer

The Rwanda National Police (RNP) Fire and Rescue Brigade, on Thursday March 4, managed to extinguish a trailer, which caught fire in Rugerero Sector, Rubavu District.

The trailer carrying 41,500 cubic metres of Benzine was headed to Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).  Read more...

Nyabihu: Police arrest two drug dealers with 4700 pellets of cannabis

Two suspected major drug dealers were arrested in Jomba sector of Nyabihu District with over 4700 pellets of cannabis.

The duo of Adelphine Muragijimana and Fidele Niyonambaza were at the time traveling in a public vehicle when it was intercepted by the Police in Nyamitanzi Cell, Kivumu Village. Read more...

Police arrest dealers in skin bleaching products

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Tuesday, March 2, showed to the media four people, who were dealing in outlawed skin bleaching products.

The suspects were all arrested in Kicukiro District in operations conducted by the department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crimes.  Read more...

KARONGI: Four arrested in Police operations against illegal mining

Four people were arrested in Karongi District as part of the ongoing Rwanda National Police (RNP) crackdown on illegal mining activities and related business.

Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Bonaventure Twizere Karekezi, the Police spokesperson for the Western region, said that the quartet was found filtering minerals in Butita stream located in Karambi Village, Tyazo Cell of Rugabano Sector.  Read more...

COVID-19: Police arrest 37 people in prohibited gatherings

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Monday, March 1, paraded to the media 37 people who were caught in City of Kigali violating COVID-19 preventive measures.Twenty-seven of the violators were found in unregistered guest house located in Kibagabaga, Kimironko Sector of Gasabo District, where they were shooting a movie.

Other 10 violators were found in Kimironko where they were holding a house party.  Read more...
