[PHOTOS]: 28 complete Police Senior Command at National Police College

Twenty-eight Police officers from nine African countries, on Friday, successfully completed the Police Senior Command and Staff Course (PSCSC) at the National Police College (NPC) in Musanze District.

The graduation of the eighth intake was presided over by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Johnston Busingye. The event was also graced by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza, UR Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Philip Cotton and the Deputy IGP in charge of Administration and Personnel, Juvenal Marizamunda, among other officials.

The course attracted participants Botswana, Central African Republic, Kenya, Ethiopia, Namibia, Somalia, South Sudan, Zimbabwe and Rwanda, the host. Read more

UNAMID marks ‘International Peacekeeping Day’

The United Nations-African Union Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID), on June 7, marked the ‘UN International Peacekeepers Day.’

The Day marked on May 29, every year, was designated by the United Nations General Assembly, in its resolution 57/129, to pay tribute to all the women and men, who have served as military, police or civilians in UN Peacekeeping operations. Read more


UNMISS Police Chief condoles death of PC Mbabazi

The Police Commissioner for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Unaisi Bolatolu-Vuniwaqa has expressed her deep grief over the death of Police Constable (PC) Enid Mbabazi, who succumbed to novel Coronavirus last week.

In her official Broadcast as the head of UNMISS Police Component, Vuniwaqa expressed her heartfelt sympathies and grief with the bereaved family. Read more


UNMISS Women Network pays tribute to fallen Rwandan colleague

The UN-Police Women Network under the peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), on Tuesday, held a memorial function in honour of Police Constable (PC) Enid Mbabazi.

Late Mbabazi, who was a member of Rwanda Formed Police Unit-One (FPU-1) hybrid of 240 Police officers deployed in Malakal, succumbed to COVID-19 on June 2, at the King Faisal Hospital after she was evacuated back home for further treatment. Read more


COVID-19: Rwanda donates medical kits to UNMISS

As part of its response to the COVID-19 crisis, Rwanda has donated COVID-19 testing medical kits to the United Nations Peacekeeping mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) this Saturday to support the fight against the pandemic.

This is part of the earlier pledged test kits and personal protective equipment to the mission to increase its capacity to test and treatment to staff as the world continues to battle the Coronavirus disease. Read more


[PHOTOS]: RNP rolls out campaign on COVID-19 safety measures

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Wednesday, rolled out a countrywide campaign dubbed ‘Rwanya COVID’ to further educate the public on safety measures against Coronavirus.

The campaign, which comes in light of the resumed transport services in the majority parts of the country, is meant to reinforce the government directives and recommended safety guidelines against the pandemic. Read more
