COVID-19: Safety Measures Strengthened to Protect Peacekeepers

Rwandan Police peacekeepers in South Sudan will continue to execute their peacekeeping mandate under strengthened measures to observe the World Health Organization (WHO) safety guidelines against novel Coronavirus.

Rwanda National Police spokesperson, CP John Bosco Kabera said that despite the death of one of the Rwandan Police peacekeeper of COVID-19, who was serving under the UN Mission in South Sudan, measures are being strengthened to protect the peacekeepers. Read more

COVID-19: 29 arrested in prohibited gatherings

Twenty-nine people were arrested in different parts of City of Kigali after they were found in varied prohibited activities.

They include those, who had gathered for prayers as well as driving and language school teachers and their students, who were found in related lessons. Read more

COVID-19: Scores arrested violating directives

At least seven people arrested for breaching the government directives on preventing the spread of novel Coronavirus. 

Six of those arrested were found in a betting house in Nyabigogo. 

The other is a taxi-moto operator, identified as Claude Tuyishime, who was using water as alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Read more

Rubavu: Drug dealer arrested with 3000 pellets of cannabis

Police in Rubavu District intercepted a drug trafficker on Friday with over 3000 pellets of cannabis. 

Bosco Kwizera, 30, was intercepted in Nyundo Sector, Terimbere Cell, Keya Village with the bundle of the narcotics. Read more

RUHANGO: Over two tonnes of minerals intercepted from illegal traders

Police in Ruhango District seized 2.8 tonnes of minerals and arrested two people in connection with the illegal mineral trade.

Those arrested are Adrien Iradukunda, 27, the driver of the vehicle they which was intercepted transporting the minerals and Gilbert Ndiroreye, 48, the owner of the minerals. Read more
