Youth Volunteers: Campaign against Coronavirus extended to Kigali

Members of Rwanda Youth Volunteers in Community Policing (RYVCP) in City Kigali reignited the awareness campaign against the spread of Coronavirus.

It’s a volunteerism spirit that the youth group across the country is actively engaged in to enhance the government efforts to educate and influence positive behaviours in order to fight and prevent the spread of the pandemic. Read more

Police in Huye District warned residents against acts of environment degradation.

Rubavu: Drug trafficker intercepted with 70kgs of cannabis

A suspected drug dealer was intercepted by the Police in Rubavu District with 70kgs of cannabis. 

Paulin Tuyisenge, 20, was arrested in Kinyandaro village, Gasiza cell in Busasamana Sector with the narcotics. Read more

Kigali: Two arrested over money counterfeit

Police in City of Kigali arrested two men identified as Michel Nkotanyi, 27 and Benjamin Butare, 25 in connection with counterfeiting money. 

The suspects were arrested separately on Thursday and Friday. 

Butare was arrested in Ndera Sector, Gasabo while Nkotanyi was arrested in Gatenga Sector, Kicukiro District. 

They were arrested in possession of combined Rwf560, 000 in Rwf5, 000 denominations. Read more

Ruhango: Residents warned against illegal mining

Communities residing near mining concessions in Ruhango District were warned against illegal mining activities and urged to cooperate with the Police by reporting those involved. 

The caution came after three men were arrested Friday in unlawful mining activities in a closed concession located in Kinihira sector, Gitinda cell. Read more

NGOMA: Six caught in illegal fishing

Six men, who were fishing illegally in Lake Karaba using substandard fishing nets, were arrested Wednesday in Jarama Sector, Ngoma District.

The operation was conducted by the Police and local leaders to fight the increasing cases of illegal fishing and use of destructive fishing gears. Read more
