RNP hold 'Police High Council' with emphasis on professionalism
Rwanda National Police (RNP) held a 'Police High Council' on Tuesday, December 12, at the General Headquarters, Kacyiru to lay more effective policing strategies towards sustainable security.
The supreme organ of RNP, which was officially opened by the Minister of Interior, Alfred Gasana, also looked at Police discipline and professionalism as ideals of quality services.
Minister Gasana reiterated the role of the Police to protect the safety of people and their property, which is possible when policing challenges are assessed and addressed.Read more
RNP lauds public impact in crime prevention
Rwanda National Police (RNP) has lauded the impact of the citizenry in fighting and preventing crimes, which has continued to improve the overall safety in the country.
These efforts have led to reduction in lawlessness, including theft, especially in different suburbs of City of Kigali, which was relatively high early this year.
The RNP spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Boniface Rutikanga, commended the contribution of the people, who cooperate with the Police and other security agencies, which has led to the arrest of suspected thieves and other criminals.Read more

Ten Police marine divers, on Tuesday, December 12, completed a two-week advanced marine diving course conducted in Lake Kivu in Rubavu District.
The training on Police techniques and methodologies for scuba diving in low visibility condition and emergency response, was facilitated by Carabinieri Scuba trainers.Read more
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: Nyamagabe residents reminded to protect forests
Residents of Nyamagabe District urged to avoid destroying forests and to support national environmental conservation efforts.
The call follows the arrest of some individuals, who from time to time, cut trees in protected forests, an act of environmental degradation punishable by law.
Two of the people that cut trees in protected forests were arrested on Thursday December 14, in Nyamagabe District, Kibumbwe Sector, Gakanka Cell, Gikomera Village. Read more
