UMUGANDA: Rwanda National Police join Gasogi residents in tree planting drive to conserve the environment
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Personnel, DCG Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza, hundreds of Police officers, on Saturday, October 25, joined residents of Gasogi in Gasabo District in a monthly communal work (Umuganda) dedicated to tree planting for environmental conservation.
More than 20,800 trees were planted on Ubwiza bwa Gasogi hill to fight soil erosion.
The communal work also brought together other security organs and youth volunteers.
The activity is part of the national tree planting campaign launched last month under the theme: “My Tree, My Legacy.” Read more...
Joint operations crack down on counterfeit goods to protect consumers
A coordinated joint operation code named USALAMA XI-2025, conducted across the country led to the seizure of assorted quantities of substandard, counterfeit and outlawed goods.
The five-day operations were conducted from October 13, by Rwanda National Police (RNP), Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), the Rwanda Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), and the City of Kigali, among others. Read more...
TURINDANE: Police urge drivers on shared responsibility to keep road users safe
On Friday, October 24, Rwanda National Police (RNP) extended Gerayo Amahoro road safety awareness campaign to over 150 drivers at Nyabugogo bus station, emphasizing shared road responsibility under the theme "Turindane Tugereyo Amahoro" loosely translated as"let’s protect one another and arrive safely.”
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Boniface Rutikanga, the RNP Spokesperson, told the drivers that Gerayo Amahoro remains active, and the Turindane initiative continues to strengthen road safety awareness and promote a culture of shared responsibility among all road users. Read more...
