RNP lauds retiring Police officers for serving with honour
Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Tuesday, November 12, bid farewell to 154 Police officers, who retired from active service.
The send-off ceremony in honor of the Commissioners, Senior, Junior and other ranks, held at the RNP General Headquarters in Kacyiru, was presided over by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Vincent Biruta.

Police High Council assess force discipline, security situation
The Police High Council convened on Tuesday, November 12, at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters in Kacyiru to further devise strategies in line with evolving policing landscape.
The Council, which brings together the RNP leadership, heads of departments, units and commanders, is the highest management and decision-making organ that provide guidelines in the fulfilment of the RNP responsibilities. Read more...
Over 30 complete 'Police Tactical Command Course'
Thirty-four Police officers, on Wednesday, November 13, completed the 'Police Tactical Command Course' at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in Charge of Operations, CP Vincent Sano, presided over the pass-out of the 14th intake.
The PTCC was designed to expand the tactical command that shapes leadership, strengthens decision-making abilities and reinforces the importance of teamwork and communication. Read more...
Rwanda rotates Formed Police Unit contingent in Central Africa Republic
On Monday, November 11, Rwanda deployed Formed Police Unit Three (RWAFPU3-3) of 180 Police officers, to replaced RWAFPU3-2 in Bangassou under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Central Africa Republic (MINUSCA).
The RWAFPU3-3 is commanded by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Thomas Kayonga.
RWAFPU3-2 commanded by Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Methode Munyaneza, returned home later in the afternoon, after a successful one-year tour-of-duty. Read more...
NORTHERN PROVINCE: Media urged to support efforts to prevent crime
The media fraternity has been urged to supplement ongoing national efforts to create a crime-free Rwandan society.
The Rwanda National Police (RNP) spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Boniface Rutikanga, made the call on Saturday, November 16, in Musanze District, while interacting with journalists working in the Northern Province.
The interaction is part of the series of the RNP outreach to meet journalists operating in regions to strengthen the Police-media relations, and to update journalists on the security situation. Read more...
