[PHOTOS]: DIGP Namuhoranye urges owners of hospitality facilities to protect children Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Friday, held a meeting with owners of bars, night clubs, guest houses and other premises selling alcohol in City of Kigali as part of the ongoing efforts to protect children and prevent drunk-driving. It is the second of the series of meetings with owners of hospitality facilities, which will continue across the country. The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Felix Namuhoranye, assured owners of bars that the efforts are not meant to affect their businesses, but to work together to ensure the safety and security of their customers as well as prevent likely threats the latter may pose to other road users. [PHOTOS]: Ivory Coast anti-corruption delegation visits RNP
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Personnel, Juvenal Marizamunda, on Friday, received a six-man delegation from various institutions in Ivory Coast charged with fighting corruption. The delegation was headed by the Technical Adviser of the High Authority for Good Governance, Dago Désiré. Discussions dwelt much on measures taken by Rwanda National Police (RNP) against graft, either within the force or in other government and private entities. Read more

[PHOTOS]: Gerayo Amahoro campaign taken to AUCA students
The ongoing national road safety campaign was extended to students of the Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA), who were enlightened on road safety standards. While speaking to over 800 students, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Marie Gorette Umutesi, the Police spokesperson of City of Kigali, reminded them to always be vigilant when using the road, either as drivers or pedestrians. Police breaks drug trafficking ring in Rubavu
Seven people said to be members of the same ring that traffics narcotics into the country were arrested separately in Rubavu District. The "targeted operations" were conducted between September 25th and 28th. They were arrested in possessions of combined 4400 pellets of cannabis. Read more

[PHOTOS]: GBV training extended to local leaders, security organs
Rwanda National Police (RNP) in partnership with United Nations Development Program (UNDP), on Monday, started series of training for local leaders and security personnel. The training is being held under the theme "Enhancing capacities in gender based violence and child abuse prevention and response." Read more

Weekend operations arrest 11 for serving alcohol to minors
11 bar owners have been arrested countrywide and are being investigated for serving alcohol to children. During the weekend operations by the Police and local leaders, about 30 children were found in bars drinking alcoholic beverages.Read more
