Rubavu: Vehicle impounded with 200kg of cannabis

A Congolese registered vehicle was impounded on July 14, in Rubavu District transporting about 200kgs of cannabis, concealed in 14 sacks.

The pickup vehicle registration number CGO 7995AA19 was intercepted in Rurembo Village, Byahi Cell in Rubavu Sector, Chief inspector of Police (CIP) Emmanuel Kayigi, the Police spokesperson for the Western region, said. Read more

Police Handball Club renews contracts for players

Interpol course opens at National Police College

Law enforcement officers from eleven African countries, on Monday, began a week-long training at the National Police College (NPC), which will enable them to utilize Interpol policing capabilities effectively and efficiently. Read more

A man suspected of impersonating a police officer and defrauding those seeking motor-vehicle inspection services, was arrested Wednesday in Kimironko, Gasabo District. Read more
Schools urged to be security cautious during holidays

Head of schools have been called upon to take precautionary measures to keep school equipment safe especially in these holidays.

The call follows the theft of students' items at Ecole Secondaire Communautaire de Rucano (ESCOM) in Ngororero District, on July 18. Read more
