30 Police officers complete motorbike riding course
Thirty Police officers, on Friday, July 23, completed a three-week 'Motorbike Riding' course at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishali in Rwamagana District.
The training was conducted by Rwanda National Police (RNP) in partnership with the Italian Police Carabinieri. Trainees were drawn from Traffic and Road Safety (TRS) department, VIP Protection Unit and Police Disciplinary Unit (DPU). Read more...

Rwanda National Police (RNP) thwarted a scam attempt in City of Kigali where a racket was trying to fleece a man of Frw15 million.
The racket of about five persons connived to forge a land title for a plot of land in Gasabo District, Gisozi Sector, Ruhango Cell which they were attempting to sell to one Vincent Kimenyi for Frw15 million. Read more...

Marine Police rescues seven people in Lake Kivu
The Rwanda National Police (RNP) Marine unit rescued seven people in Lake Kivu after a boat capsized on Monday, July 19.
The boat capsized at about 1:15am with six traders on board from Boneza Sector of Rutsiro District, who were at the time transporting assorted foodstuff to Brasserie market in Nyamyumba Sector, Rubavu District. Read more...
Four more motorcycle thieves arrested
Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested four more people in operations targeting rackets connected to series of motorcycle robberies, especially in City of Kigali.
The arrest of the quartet on Friday, July 23, in Kamonyi and Muhanga districts came few days after Police also recovered three stolen motorcycles and arrested five people connected to the criminal acts. Read more...
NGORORERO: Man held over illegal mining
A man identified as Bosco Munyandera, 48, was arrested on Monday, July 19, in Ngororero District for allegedly conducting illegal mineral activities.
Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Bonaventure Twizere Karekezi, the Police spokesperson for the Western region, said that Munyandera, who is part of the group that steals minerals in concessions, was at the time of his arrest found in possession of 1kg of beryl and other traditional tools, which the ring was using to extract minerals. RUBAVU: Woman intercepted trafficking narcotics in sack of potatoes
Police in Rubavu District arrested a woman on Thursday, July 22, who was trafficking over 500 pellets of cannabis concealed in a sack of irish potatoes.
Jeannette Muhawenimana, 25, was arrested at about 7pm in Bisesero Village, Kiremera Cell, Kanzenze Sector where she was waiting for a cargo vehicle to Kigali. Read more...
