COVID-19: Police arrest 129 in operations targeting bars
At least 129 people were arrested in City of Kigali on Saturday, February 13, in Rwanda National Police (RNP) operations that targeted bars and other businesses flouting the national COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

Three arrested for defrauding traders over Frw100 million worth of goods
Rwanda National Police (RNP) arrested three men suspected to be behind series of forgery and defrauding traders in Kigali assorted goods worth over Frw100 million.
They are Dieudonne Nziyomaze, 36, Jean Claude Ntezimana, 36, and Jean Damascene Nzahoranimana, 46.
The trio was showed to the media on Thursday, February 11, at the Police metropolitan headquarters in Remera, Gasabo District.
RNP spokesperson, CP John Bosco Kabera said the operation and subsequent arrest of the trio followed complaints filed by several traders operating in Nyarugenge market, who had fallen victims. Read more...
Nyabihu: 420kgs of cannabis seized in separate operations
Separate Police operations against drugs in Nyabihu District, seized about 420kgs of cannabis.
According to Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Bonaventure Twizere Karekezi, the Police spokesperson for the Western region, the narcotics were seized from dealers, including major suppliers, most of them who were convicted and currently serving varied sentences. Read more...

Police in Gisagara District arrested two men suspected to be part of the ring that ambush people in wee hours and stealing their valuables.
The duo of Jean-Paul Nikobari and Jean-de-Dieu Hategekimana was arrested on Thursday, February 11, in Rwosezero Village, Munazi Cell in Save Sector.
Nikobari and Hategekimana are prime suspects in the recent incident when they ambushed one Enock Manishimwe, took his computer laptop and money amounting to Frw150, 000. Read more...

Rubavu: 80 caught in bar drinking
Eighty people were arrested in Rubavu District on Tuesday, February 9, after they were found in a bar drinking.
They are part of 103 people arrested in the Tuesday afternoon operations conducted in Rubavu town targeting violators of the national COVID-19 prevention measures.

NYAGATARE: Man arrested with counterfeit money
A man identified as Ibrahim Mugisha, 36, was arrested on Monday, February 8, in Tabagwe Sector of Nyagatare District with counterfeit money amounting to Frw120,000.
The Police spokesperson for the Eastern region, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Hamdun Twizeyimana said that Mugisha was identified after he paid counterfeit currency notes in a restaurant located in Tabagwe Cell. Read more...

A suspected motorcycle thief was arrested on Monday, February 8, in Gikonko Sector, Gisagara District with a motorcycle, which was stolen recently.
Egide Ntirandekura, 29, was arrested in Mbogo cell, Bukorota village with the stolen motorcycle plate number RE 882Y. The motorcycle belonging to one Mugenzi Mayisha, also a resident of Gikonko Sector in Gisagara, was stolen on January 23, when suspected thieves broke into his house at night. Read more...

Rwanda National Police (RNP), on Tuesday, February 9, paraded to the media one Herbert Mpirirwe, a suspected major drug trafficker, who was arrested in Burera District on Monday.
