Bugesera: Over 3000 liters of illicit brew seized

Over 3000 litres of illicit were seized in an operation against drugs in Bugesera District. The substances known in the area as karidazoke were seized on November 11, in Rwarusaku Village of Kibenga Cell, Mayange Sector.Chief Inspector of Police  (CIP) Theobald Kanamugire, the Police spokesperson for the Eastern region, said the substances were recovered from two illegal distilleries. Motorcyclist arrested for attempting to bribe Police officer

A commercial motorcyclist was arrested on November 12, in Kibungo Sector, Ngoma District for allegedly attempting to bribe a Police officer.The suspect identified as Patrick Tumukunde had tried to give a bribe of Rwf20, 000 to a traffic Police officer after he was caught violating traffic rules and regulations, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Theobald Kanamugire, the Police spokesperson for the Eastern region, said. At least 13 people said to be part of the ring that breaks into houses targeting especially electronics, were arrested in a Police operation conducted on November 14, in Nyarugenge District. Chief Inspector of Police  (CIP) Emmanuel Kayigi, the Police spokesperson for the City of Kigali, said that the "suspects also include people running black electronics market and dealing in assorted stolen items."
