EASF workshop on pledged Police capabilities held in Kigali
Twenty-three Police officers from the Eastern Africa Stand-by Force (EASF) member countries met in Kigali in a workshop training on assessment, verification and management of pledged Police capabilities.
The five-day training was opened on Monday, July 24, by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Vincent Sano.
Rwanda pledged Police, military and civilian personnel as well as logistics to the regional body, composed of 10 active members, namely; Rwanda, Burundi, Seychelles, Djibouti, Kenya, Comoros, Ethiopia, Somalia and Uganda. Read more

The five-day training workshop for the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) concluded on Friday, July 28, in Kigali, Rwanda with a clear roadmap for the effectiveness in the preparation and management of the pledged Police capabilities.
Twenty-three Police officers from nine out of ten EASF member states were in Kigali since Monday to address challenges in the management of the Police pledged capabilities, which were identified in the report of the panel of independent experts on verification, confirmation and validation of the regional body's pledged capabilities also known as 'Gambari Report.Read more

Smugglers intercepted with bales of used clothes
Police in Nyagatare and Kirehe districts, on Wednesday, July 26, impounded nine bales of second-hand clothes commonly known as caguwa from suspected smugglers.
Five bales were impounded Wednesday morning in Kirehe District, Kigarama sector, Kigarama cell in Rugari, from three suspected smugglers, who were taken into custody.
Four other bales were recovered from a house in Nyagatare District, Matimba sector, Cyembogo cell in Kamahoro village.Read more
Police recovers stolen vehicle, one arrested
Rwanda National Police (RNP) recovered a vehicle, which was reported stolen recently in downtown Nyabugogo in Nyarugenge District. One person has been arrested in connection with the act.
The vehicle, Toyota Hilux RAD 698C belonging to one Dr. William Agaba, was reported stolen on July 17, from a parking lot at MTN service centre in Nyabugogo.Read more
