Over 1,600 officers complete Police Special Forces training

A total of 1,697 officers on Friday, April 24, completed the Basic Police Special Forces course at the Counter Terrorism Training Centre (CTTC) in Mayange, Bugesera District, as the Rwanda National Police (RNP) continues to strengthen its security capacity and professionalism.
The officers of intake 04/2026 include 38 from the Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS).
The three-month training equips officers with advanced tactical skills to effectively respond to evolving security threats and ensure the safety of people and property.  Read More... 

Rwandan Police peacekeepers honored with UN medal in Central African Republic

On Friday, April 24, some 315 Rwandan Police peacekeepers, including 65 women, were awarded United Nations (UN) medal of appreciation in Bangui, to recognize their distinguished service under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

The decorated officers constitute two contingents; Rwanda Formed Police Unit One rotation 11 (RWAFPU1-11), Protection Support Unit (PSU1-10) as well as Individual Police Officers (IPO), who serve as Police Advisors.  Read More... 

Inside Rwanda National Police Vehicle Inspection Centers: Protecting Lives Through Vehicle Safety

For experienced drivers, road safety does not start when a driver turns the ignition key. It starts much earlier, inside the vehicle itself. The condition of the brakes, the tires, the steering and the suspension is what truly determines whether a journey will be safe or dangerous.

A careful driver is important, but even the best driver cannot control a vehicle with failed brakes, worn-out tires, broken lights or a weak suspension. Many accidents are not only caused by reckless driving, but also by mechanical problems that could have been prevented through regular inspection and maintenance.  Read More... 

PTS GISHARI: 550 Police officers support public health through blood donation

Some 550 Police officers attached to the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari, in Rwamagana District, on Saturday, April 25, participated in a voluntary blood donation exercise to support national health efforts.

The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s blood bank and promote community well-being.  Read More... 

Sharp serving, strong blocks power Police VC to commanding start in CAVB championship

Rwanda National Police Volleyball Club (Police VC) made an impressive start to the 47th African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Men’s Club Championship with a commanding straight-sets victory over Tanzania’s Prisons VC on Thursday, April 23, at BK Arena in Kigali.

Police VC secured a 3–0 win (25–15, 25–18, 25–17) in a match that showcased their strength and coordination. Although both teams began on relatively equal footing, the Rwandan Police side quickly asserted control, thrilling home fans with a confident and disciplined performance.  Read More...
