UN decorates over 400 Rwandan Police peacekeepers in South Sudan, CAR
The United Nations, on Wednesday, March 15, awarded service medals to 424 Rwandan Police peacekeepers serving in its missions in South Sudan and Central African Republic (CAR).
At least 240 decorated officers of Rwanda Formed Police Unit One (RWAFPU-1) are operating in Malakal, Upper Nile State under the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
Other 184 officers include 180, who constitute RWAFPU-II and four Police Advisors deployed in Kaga Bandoro, Nana Gribizi province under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). Read more...
Rwanda to host EAPCCO Games
Rwanda will effective Tuesday, March 21, host the 4th edition of the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Games.
The week-long interforce tournament will attract participants in 13 sports disciplines, from 8 EAPCCO member countries.
The 4th edition will be held under the theme: "Fostering Police cooperation in fighting transnational organized crimes through sports."
The 13 sports disciplines include football, handball, netball, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, athletics, darts, Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, boxing and shooting. Read more...
NYAGATARE: Man arrested for attempting to bribe Police officers
Police in Nyagatare District arrested a man on Sunday, March 12, for allegedly attempting to bribe one of their own in order to release his impounded motorcycle.
The motorcycle registration number RG 935Y, was impounded earlier after the suspect was found riding without a driver's license.
The police spokesperson for the Eastern region, Superintendent of Police (SP) Hamdun Twizeyimana said that the suspect was arrested in Gashenyi cell, Rukomo sector after he tried to give a bribe of Frw11,000. Read more...
GASABO: Another suspect arrested over motorcycle theft
On Monday, March 15, Police in Kigali arrested another man in connection with motorcycle theft.
The 26-year old man was apprehended in Nyakabungo village, Gasanze cell of Nduba sector in Gasabo District with a motorcycle which was reported stolen earlier that day.
Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Sylvestre Twajamahoro, the Police spokesperson for the City of Kigali said that the motorcycle TVS registration number RF 483C, was reported stolen earlier in the day at about 2p.m. Read more...
