SOUTH SUDAN: Rwandan Police peacekeepers trains local Police on public order management
Rwandan Police peacekeepers deployed in Malakal, Upper Nile State under the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), on Saturday, January 14, concluded the training of 50 local Police officers.
The officers of the South Sudan National Police Service (SSNP) acquired skills in crowd control, public order management and how to perform First Aid before the arrival of medical professionals. Read more
Community policing making headway against drug dealers in Ruhango
Assorted narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and expired products seized in various Police operations in Ruhango District, were destroyed on Thursday, January 12.
The disposed of products include 6,377 litres of Kanyanga, an illicit gin, over 25, 000 pellets of cannabis, 6,329 bottles of illicit brew, 4,980 bottles of expired juice, 460,000 pieces of plastic bags and 158 pieces of outlawed skin bleaching creams. They were seized in separate security operations conducted in Ruhango District since September last year. Read more
Police foils counterfeits worth over Frw108 million in Bugesera
Police foiled an attempt by two men in Bugesera District to print counterfeit dollar bills amounting to US$100,000, approximately Frw108,500,000.
The two suspects identified as Gregoire Noheli alias Arafati, and Isidore Bikorimana alias Shalom, both aged 48, were arrested on Wednesday, January 11, in a house located in Gitaramuka Village, Gakamba Cell in Mayange Sector, where they were at the time printing counterfeit US100 dollar bills. Police Training School donates five cows to disadvantaged families in Gishari
The Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District, on Tuesday, January 10, donated five cows to four disadvantaged families in the areas as part of the Rwanda National Police (RNP) human security activities.
The beneficiaries are from Umunini Village, Ruhimbi Cell in Gishari Sector. Also donated to the same families are cattle spray pumps and tick control medicines. Read more
Police seize over 1200 pellets of cannabis from dealers, one arrested
Police in Bugesera and Kicukiro districts seized 1295 pellets of cannabis from suspected traffickers and distributors in intensified operations to break chains of supply.
At least 920 pellets were seized from two people on Tuesday, January 10, who were traveling on a motorcycle, in Bugesera District, Ntarama Sector in Kanzenze Cell. Read more
